About Chatham Tree Service

Trees are too valuable—and tree work is too consequential—for one-size-fits-all recommendations.

Madison Tree Service was built around a straightforward approach: look carefully at the tree, understand the homeowner's concern and recommend work that makes sense for the individual property.

We provide residential tree care throughout Madison and neighboring North Jersey communities, including pruning and trimming, health evaluations, removal, stump grinding, cabling and bracing, brush cleanup, and planting.

Tree Care Starts With Judgment

Homeowners often call because they know something is wrong but are not sure what should happen next.

A branch may be hanging over the roof.

A mature tree may have started losing foliage.

A trunk may have developed a crack.

A large tree may simply make the homeowner uncomfortable after several severe storms.

Those concerns deserve an informed response.

The solution might involve pruning. It might involve monitoring. It might involve improving the growing environment around a stressed tree. In appropriate cases, structural support may be considered. And when a tree has deteriorated beyond a reasonable point of preservation, removal may be the responsible choice.

We believe homeowners should understand why work is recommended.

Careful Work Around Your Property

Residential tree work often happens in confined spaces.

Homes, driveways, patios, fences, garden beds, pools, vehicles and neighboring properties may all sit within the work area.

Planning is therefore every bit as important as cutting. Our goal is to complete the necessary tree work while treating the surrounding property with care and leaving the site orderly when the project is finished.

Respect for Mature Trees

Madison has a long-established culture of tree stewardship, reflected in the Borough's Shade Tree Management Board, tree-protection program and Landmark Tree Registry.

That philosophy makes sense at the residential level as well.

A mature tree may represent decades of growth. Once removed, that canopy cannot simply be replaced by installing a small nursery tree.

When a healthy tree can reasonably remain, preservation deserves consideration.

At the same time, tree preservation should not become an excuse to ignore serious structural deterioration or advanced decline.

Good tree care requires knowing the difference.

Local Service Throughout the Madison Area

We work throughout Madison, Chatham, Florham Park, Millburn, Short Hills, Summit, New Providence, Livingston and East Hanover.

These established North Jersey communities contain many mature trees and landscapes that have evolved over decades.

Whether you are managing one backyard tree or several large trees across the property, Madison Tree Service can help you understand your options and decide what comes next.
